The Midlands Young Fashion Designer Awards (MYFDA) is an annual event featuring fashion students and graduate designers; the event aims to expose the wealth of creative talent here in Birmingham and across the Midlands through a competition for aspiring designers. Now in its third year the MYFDA offers a platform enabling designers to showcase their collection to industry professionals, fashion enthusiasts and the public. The awards are a great opportunity for designers to gain exposure whilst securing valuable experience in a competitive arena.

The MYFDA also offers the opportunity for new and independent designers to showcase their collection at the annual event. The awards will be held in Birmingham and will feature a high calibre runway presentation together with aspiring and professional models.

Categories

Fashion students and new graduates may choose from the following categories to design a collection of 3 complete outfits that projects creativity and innovation in fashion design, designs should be creative, functional and innovative in terms of style and choice of fabric, completed outfits will be showcased at the fashion showcase and awards to be held in October 2010.
